The beauty of the question "What are you going to do today?" is that it automatically covers the other two to an extent. You knew on which module a developer was working on (from yesterday's scrum), if he is not repeating that answer today, you know what was accomplished. If developer repeats the answer, you know he is stuck on something :). On an additional note, I will actually focus on creating a friendly and open atmosphere in team where they can admit easily if they are not able to solve a problem themselves and need hemp. Also a little self praise (people do that when they feel they solved some difficult problem) is not bad at times.

Hi, as you pointed out your approach works ONLY if the other users will not use the same strategy, otherwise the price will grow (how much it grows depends on how much the other users bid).
I have been working on this problem for building reliable services, e.g., I wanted to answer the question "Can I use spot instances for achieving 99.999% availability without over-bidding?"
Apparently it is possible. An overview of my findings is reported here http://cloud-computing-economics.com/business-benefits-applications/delivering-reliable-services-spot-instances/
while the technical paper is here http://math.ut.ee/~mazzucco/papers/hpcc_2011.pdf

For 24/7 it makes perfect sense and I think these are the people being targeted. It makes sense for web software dev because you start out small and learn to scale the app layers before you go to m1.small or m1.large.... I'm also experimenting with auto-scale clustered t1.micro using custom images. That's a nice way to spin it. [:

Why is everyone spending so much time worring about the copycat when they can have the original iPhone.

I spent 10 years with Windows Mobile before the iPhone came along and blew it out of the water. I was happy to abandon WinMo and all the apps that I had spent good money on to move to the innovative iPhone. Now I am a HAPPY iPhone user with a good investment in apps. I will never switch to another platform unless something NEW and INNOVATIVE comes along that blows the iPhone out of the water. Android is NOTHING new. Google basically copied the iPhone. If Microsoft had done Android can you imagine that hate that would be spewed out on Microsoft. But Google gets a complete pass on this...

iPhone app store has a prominent "featured" list which acts as a seed in many ways. An alternative is some kind of social discovery system, like on facebook. Popularity indices without either of the 2 will make the top lists driven almost purely by chance.

Wow great description. Sounds like android should kill the return policy ... just a bad idea to let people try out and return a product that only costs $1.

Not sure about chaotic/static thing ... I look at top 10 lists for categories on iphone, which are ranked purely by sales (I think). Not sure why curated would be better (though I can imagine winners staying winners, so I could imagine it being static.
